Well, if you’re using a marketplace like Clickbank or MyPayDotCom.com or anything like this than you’re already tapping in to an existing marketplace of affiliates. But I think that there are two big areas that you want to focus on to get affiliates. The first is to get your existing customers to become affiliates instantly. So, as soon as they download your product, as soon as they receive what they’ve paid for, make sure they are aware that you do have an affiliate program and that they can basically be reimbursed for their purchase so to speak by promoting the content that delivered to them.

This is a very, very good question and an important one, obviously, because you can’t just trust that sale that was made you can figure out on your own who made the sale and who gets credit at an affiliate. It’s also important for you to track sales accurately because affiliates are going to want to know that you have an effective tracking mechanism in place.

Well, the basics are that with an affiliate program in place you don’t have to rely only on your own efforts in order to promote your products and services. If you have some other people promoting your products as affiliates then they can do a lot of the effort for you. The down side is you’re going to pay them a commission and we’ll talk more about that in a minute.
