I see a lot of people who are in to internet marketing who think that one of the ways they can have multiple streams of income and revenue is to resell webhosting. And while it’s a good idea on the surface, it actually is a little bit more of a pain in the butt than it’s worth. I think that being a domain reseller is okay; being a webhost reseller is not unless you want to spend the time to actually run servers and so forth. It’s typically very difficult to actually do the reselling and keep track of everything. I would recommend instead of reselling webhosting that you actually are an affiliate for webhosting companies.

You’ll see this sometimes being sold on webhosting services, dedicated hosting usually runs 50 bucks a month and up. Most websites that I see running dedicated hosting services typically charge around $200 per month. I have a dedicated hosting account for my help desk. I find it’s actually a waste of money. The idea of a dedicated host is that you a more likelihood of that particular server just being used for you, not having it overloaded with other websites doing any kind of shared hosting and things like that. I actually have a dedicated hosting account at Host Gator and I have regular hosting at Host Gator and my regular hosting actually outperforms my dedicated hosting believe it or not.

So, if you are the kind of person who doesn’t want to do much with your own website you might be tempted to hire a webmaster. I see locally here in the southeast corner of North Carolina, people asking for $2000 or more to create a website for a company and they usually create the website in such a way that updates and revisions need to be done by that same webmaster. This is the exact reason why I decided to create DiscoverCPanel.com and CPanel why I encourage people to learn at least the basics of doing your own blog and so forth because you don’t want to have to have that kind of expense for a website.

A website and a blog can be the same. It’s actually one of those logic problems. A blog is a website but a website is not always a blog. Websites are any type of collection of web pages that are hosted on the same domain. A blog is a specific type of content system that allows you to publish your content in a format that is more easily read, it has RSS features and other publishing features that have search engine optimization quality to it. I prefer, personally, to encourage people to start with a blog because it’s easier to maintain, you don’t have to worry about learning a lot of fancy graphics or anything like that because blogs are pretty effective at using existing graphics and what are called themes.

You definitely do not need to get extra hosting for each domain. In fact, most of the hosting accounts that you will want to get and the best hosting services that you will want to pick up all have unlimited domains as part of their packages. So no matter how many domains you have you can actually put them all under one hosting account and this is a very effective way to go about doing internet marketing.
